Roughly cut with sprue cutters and partially TIG welded together 
This is Sterling bar stock  that was roughly assembled and partially TIG welded.
After TIG welding and rolling to flatten pattern is applied. Ready for piercing.
After I finished TIG welding the 2X4mm stock together, I rolled through the mill to flatten it. Then I glued my pattern on and pierced it out.
After filing you can see not defects.
You can see in this close up that the TIG welded area are free of defect and invisible.

This is a view face up of the sterling charm. I'm sorry about the focus, but if there were pits in the welds you would see them.
